Ilze Smildzina / Holidays

In her works, the painter refers to the world around us, but she always does it with a touch of symbolism. Be it floating in the sky or a real-life city scene, the objects seem illusory when represented by soft forms and colors, by juxtaposing light and shade. The atmosphere created by Ilze Smildzina reminds of the fleetingness of life and the necessity to cherish its every moment.
