A Hundred and One Everyday 16

Adriana Vignere / A Hundred and One Everyday 16

The small canvases and the constant line of the horizon evoke memories of a holiday by the sea last summer. Imagine the feeling when you are happy about the slight fatigue of the sun, delicious food and a loved one nearby. The feeling when the only question is - whether to go swimming immediately or a little later.

The irregular shape of the paintings (each subframe is made and the canvas is put on by the artist herself) are flashes of memories.

A shimmering blue color that the artist Adriana Vignere mixes from semi-precious stone lapis lazuli powder much like the most important artists of the Renaissance and Baroque, including Masaccio, Perugino, Titian and Vermeer did - ultramarine, the finest and most expensive of all blue pigments. The noble color in which the clothes of the Virgin Mary were usually painted.

Size: 13 cm X 14 cm
Period: 2018
