Francesca Torchia

Francesca Torchia

Francesca Torchia, born in Lecco, on 19 July 1973; since 2003 has lived and worked in Senigallia (AN). She creates paintings, sculptures and installations that stimulate a vital and dialectical relationship between the work, its history and the spectator.

The themes that make up her work include memory, the transience of human life and the environmental conditions of our time. Each work is constantly evolving: even if each work stands alone, over time it can be joined by new works that address the same theme, they will create a sense of whole, defining themselves as temples of memory within which traces are sought of a history in continuous transformation.

Francesca Torchia graduated in Painting, under the guidance of Luciano Fabro, at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, Milan. Then she attended two master’s degrees, one in Milan for the “Laboratory department, printing complexes and cataloging of print archives”. The other in Pietrarubbia
(PU) for the artistic treatment of metals, Centro TAM, chaired by Arnaldo Pomodoro and directed by Eliseo Mattiacci. Some of her works are exhibited at the Italian Embassy of the Republic of San Marino, the Diocesan Museum of Jesi (AN), the Villa Valentina Museum in Marotta (PU) and the Civic Museum of Pieve Torina (MC).
