Hiroyuki Masuyama was born in Tsukuba, Japan, in 1968. He studied art history and music at Tokyo University and then moved to Düsseldorf, Germany, where he went to art school, and then to the Kunsthochschule für Medien, Cologne. Today he lives and works in Cologne.
His works are to be seen in important private and public collections, including the Kunsthalle Hamburg; the Kunsthaus Zürich; Quandt Haus, Bad Homburg; UBS, Zurich, Switzerland; the Gertsch Museum, Switzerland; Montblanc, Hamburg; DKV Münchner Rück; the Kunsthalle Bremen; the Pommersches Landesmuseum, Greifswald. The artist has also participated in prize competitions, for which he was always classified among the first three: Epson Color Imaging Contest; Canon Digital Creators Contest; Art Bahn Düsseldorf. The works by Hiroyuki Masuyama were proposed for the first time in Italy by Studio la Città, Verona, a gallery with which the artist still collaborates.
