Egon Schiele

Egon Schiele was born in 1890 in Tulin, a town on the Danube. At the age of sixteen he passed the entrance exam to the Academy of Fine Arts and initially worked with enthusiasm.

In 1907 he met Gustav Klimt who encouraged him to improve his sign and contour technique and introduced him to the Vienna Worhshop, founded in 1903. Schiele's first participation in an official exhibition took place in the Klosterneuburg Abbey where, despite his concerns, his esteem for his work grew and his talent gained recognition...
